  3. ahhh yes... i loved my Big Wheel (although i remember a he-man one... then again, i reckon i had both dukes of hazzard and he-man at different points... it's not as though the big-wheels of the time were the pieces of heirloom quality craftsmanship that the tricycles of 30 years prior to that were. (but they did look a hell of a lot cooler than those tricycles too... so i guess there's the catch... ) - Matt   - 10/05/2008

Atheists Sue President Over National Prayer Day

  1. This country was founded on belief in God; it's in the Constitution, Bill of Rights and other documents. You walk up the steps of Washington Monument, visit Lincoln Memorial, pay homage to the downed veterans who lie in rest at our national cemeteries. It is noted only two people offered to die for you. The first was Jesus Christ when He gave His life on the Cross of Calvary. The second is the soldier, the soldier gave his/her life so idiots like you can still make unkind comments about the non-existence of God. May He have mercy on your soul.
It's still a free country and we who choose to pray may at any time, anywhwere. If it bothers you, then turn around and leave. Your presence and you comments would stifle the Holy Spirit at that time. Plus it would give the pray-er an opportunity to pray for you and your salvation.
If you have a problem with atheists not having a holiday of their very own, well let me introduce you to your very own holiday--April 1st. May God bless you.
Oh yea, and if you don't believe in God, maybe you ought not to take His name in vain in any manner of speech, throw away your calendars, watches and definitely quit using money, checks or credit cards. Sorry. Those items all show the presence of God. You can take Him out of the schools, out of the pledge but you can't deny His existence. HE IS!!!!!
    - kathy   - 10/04/2008
  2. @kathy well said! - MageThufer   - 10/04/2008
  3. Go Mom! Nice rant... although... let's not forget that there are plenty of gods you don't believe in either... an atheist just believes in one less god than you do, that's all... April 1st.. funny.. we will also gladly keep our mits on Halloween.. we stole it from the pagens fair and square and we do love the annual tizzy it causes the die-hard church folk... hehehe

As much as I thought your comment was spirited and energetic, I'd like to express my grief for your claim that this country's founding was somehow a christian thing... it really wasn't, the church has perpetuated that belief but it is, not surprisingly, nothing more than a well written lie... actual history tells us a different story (as do the documents you claim support your theory)... there was atheism among the founding fathers as well as disagreements among religion... the principle of our country is "freedom" of religion... and that includes the right to not believe in anything and be just as offended by your prayer as you are when you hear "Gods name taken in vain" (really not sure what calendars and watches have to do with God versus having to do with space & mathematics, and the discoveries and teachings of a lot of really smart atheists throughout time, but anyway) ... it's really a boo-hoo to the both sides here, the atheists who are suing and the christians who have now circulated the edict to "be upset about this"... this is a free country and both sides will simply have to deal with the other. neither is going anywhere and neither has any more or less rights than the other. Will they ever come to a peace accord "I will stop saying gods name in vein and i will, for some strange reason throw away my calendar and my watch, just as long as you keep your religion confined to churches and homes" ... I highly doubt such a treaty will ever be etched into our tumultuous collective history.

  1. oh matt...are you gonna start telling me how the CIA killed Kennedy? - Lee   - 06/05/2008
  2. No... everyone knows it was the mafia. - Matt   - 06/05/2008
  3. I took care of a person in a Nursing Home who worked for the CIA during the Kennedy regime. She had a top secret security clearance and some of the things she hinted at make it seem the CIA could definitely have been behind this assassination. It's not unreasonable to think that. This person is long since died but one of this person's comments were, "Oh the things I could tell you about Pres. Kennedy and the CIA" then this person would clam up.
Are you even old enough to remember 1963? I am and do. Like it was yesterday.

  1. Dave, for the past few years, he has held the Packers hostage with his ego driven acts. Either you are going to play or not. He wanted out. He was unhappy because the Packers did not bring in "his" players ie Moss. Yes, Montana will always go down as a 49er ( I was at his last game as a pro, Go PHINS ) like Farve a Packer, but Farve wanted out. That is why he unretired!!! and retired in the first place.

Bottom line, Farve's a Jerk, Hall of Fame or not.
    - michael   - 08/10/2008
  2. I've always thought Farve was a jerk. A whiney butt jerk. He had a good thing, even in retirement, and blew it. He should have thought long and hard before he committed to "retiring" and then "coming out of retirement". He sure doesn't think he will usurp the QB's that have worked hard and be a starter. He's fortunate some team 'took pity' on him and is giving him another chance.
    Stupe.

It's a good thing he's not running for president. If you can't be true to your marriage and be faithful; what makes him think he can be honorable and faithful in running a great nation like the USA. - kathy   - 08/10/2008

  1. It's people like the ACLU that cause most of the problems in the country. If you don't like the freedoms this country has, go somewhere else. If the parent's cannot help their children and the counselors cannot help them and they commit a crime, then by all means, they should do the time. Just because they're kids doesn't make them innocents. Kids can be vicious and violent. - kathy   - 04/24/2008

  1. How can you mistake a child for a turkey. If this boy was outfitted in the proper hunting garb; orange vest/jacket and cap he should of been easily seen. If the boy was not properly outfitted then shame on the father and throw the book at him. He was responsible for this child and he robbed him of his life.

  3. It was an awesome game!! Had the best seat right in front of the TV. I never saw two teams who were more evenly matched than KU and Memphis. Too bad the Memphis coach was a sore loser. And the fouls his team committed that weren't called by the refs. Blatent fouls. KU was called on their fouls and some that weren't fouls. They showed them on instant replay. It's amazing how biased the refs were. It seems if it's not an east or west coast team playing, it's not an important team. Jayhawks earned the NCAA title fair and square.

  1. He says Bush raised the national debt to the millions. What about his proposed 39% raise is taxes if (I hope to heaven he's not) elected. Bama is not in the presidential race for this nation, he's in it for himself to prove a point. He's a smooth talker and that's about it. - kathy   - 03/10/2008
  2. Who's in it for the nation? Was Bush? I believe Obama is in it for the Nation.

Also, the fact that Bush is the OPPOSITE of a smooth talker has been an embarrassment to us on the world stage. The guy is of sub-par intelligence and he was actually allowed to speak and make choices. Both of these mistakes have cost us dearly as a Nation (special thanks for this goes out to the people who actually voted for/supported him... you know who you are).

Obama's ability to speak clearly, intelligently, and to the point is one of his BEST qualities.

Clinton, god bless her soul, is a corporate slave. Corporate attorney for Wal*Mart, loves to take money from known felons for her campaign, lies about her campaigns involvement in un-american smear tactics... hmm... so what she's a woman, so was Geraldine Ferraro. Hillary has just had too many questionable ethics tactics in her background and that's not what I think a leader should be. She has little to no chance of making it to November looking better than John McCain. Barak Obama is the only true shot the we have at being a strong, united, proud nation again. I'm going to take that chance. Sorry, Hillary... but even Bill can't top Obama's charisma. The Clinton's are yesterdays politics... Obama is the future.

    GO-BAMA!!

Bash Obama... tsk tsk tsk... not on my watch.
